Welcome to Stockholm, Alaska ?
How far north is Sweden really?
Well, a lot of Sweden is actually situated on the same or similar latitude as Alaska.
So why does Sweden still have a warmer climate than Alaska. It’s all due to the Gulf stream which bring us warmer water and a milder climate.
The Gulf Stream system of warm ocean currents could collapse as early as 2025, a scientific study has warned.
So yes, with a climate change this could all end. This winter in Sweden is one of the coldest for a long time. Maybe when the rest of the world might be getting dryer, warmer or get more flooding, maybe Sweden will be colder and resemble our similar places like Alaska?
