Fika in Stockholm

Yes, simply by sitting down and drinking a cup of coffee and preferably having a cinnamon roll to go with it you are participating in the biggest movement in Sweden, the so called Fika. Swedes have at least two fika breaks everyday, one in the morning just after arriving at work and then one in the afternoon an hour or two after lunch.

Is there anytime left for working you might ask? Well fika is almost considered working, it’s a sort of informal meeting believed to be good for relations at work. At least it’s pretty good for spreading gossip as well. Now after a fika you should have a nice long walk to digest all the good stuff! A stroll through the streets in old town is highly recommended.
