Illegal to rent through Airbnb?
Hurry up if you are thinking of renting your next holiday home in Stockholm though the popular service Airbnb. After a court ruling in Sweden last week it is now illegal to rent out your flat through Airbnb.com in Stockholm without getting a permission from the other neighbors and board in the house where you live. The new sharing economy is popular among ordinary citizens but not so popular with the politicians, hotel owners and large house owners who see people earning money outside their control. “Hopefully this will send a message to people that they can’t rent out to people however they please,” the official politicians in Stockholm says.
